First ever Invictus Games trials begin in Sheffield with star-studded 'Big Gig' featuring Heather Small and Suggs
A star studded opening ceremony was held in Sheffield last night for the Invictus Games trials.
The 'Big Gig' included pop star Suggs from Madness, Alfie Boe, and Heather Small. They all gave their time free-of-charge, to give the event the perfect start.
Hundreds of wounded, injured and sick veterans are all hoping to qualify for a place on the UK team at next year's Games.
The competition was created by Prince Harry five years ago, encouraging former soldiers to use sport to help them recover from their injuries. The 2020 Games which will be held in The Netherlands.
One of the organisers of tonight's Big Gig says staging it was "a no-brainer".
