Murder investigation underway in Chesterfield

A murder investigation is underway in Chesterfield following the death of a 47-year-old man.

Phillip Allen was assaulted on Birchover Court in Highfield Lane on June 27th. He was taken to hospital with head injuries where he remained until he died on July 17th

A 27-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of murder and remains in police custody.

Police are appealing for anyone who was in the area of Birchover Court around 9pm on June 27th has information that may be relevant to contact them.
