Rural bosses in Lincolnshire hoping to tackle gender stereotypes as national figures show seven in ten farmers are men
Video report by ITV News Calendar reporter Katharine Walker
Women still make up less than a third of the national agricultural workforce, according to figures from the Office for National Statistics.
That has led to calls for gender stereotypes to be broken down, encouraging those who may never have considered a career 'on the land' to reconsider.
Sophie Arlott, from Grantham, is among a new generation of female farmers.
The shepherdess is breeding artisan sheep that value flavour over size. She says the future of farming is about innovation.
A potato farm in Nocton is also among those challenging stereotypes, by holding an open day for students to encourage young women into the sector.
