Planting beetroot in the Calendar Veg Patch: "You can't beet it", says Jon Mitchell

Jon Mitchell has returned to the Calendar Veg Patch this week to plant 'brassicas', a genus of plants in the mustard family.

He sowed broccoli and cauliflower seeds along two narrow troughs.

He then added beetroot, a personal favourite of Jon's.
