Lincolnshire Show 2019: All the fun of the county's fair celebrating food and farming, despite drizzle

A 'flashmob' of schoolchildren were among the highlights of the first day of the Lincolnshire Show.

The Year 5 and 6 pupils performed a rendition of 'Food Glorious Food' from the Oliver musical, in an event organised by Taste Lincolnshire.

Meanwhile, drizzle failed to dampen spirits at the side of the showrings. where there have been horse-jumping events, a parade of hounds, and motocross.

Yesterday, the chief executive of the Lincolnshire Agricultural Society promised "something for everyone" at this year's county show.

Jayne Southall said the organisers "have got precautions in place" in case of adverse weather, but remained hopeful of largely dry conditions.

The county's biggest show celebrates food and farming, with entertainment, aviation, and shopping.

The two-day event begins today (Wednesday) and runs until 6pm both days.
