Wakefield victim's daughter steps up campaign to keep 'shoe fetish killer' behind bars
The daughter of a woman who was murdered by a killer with a shoe fetish has stepped up her battle to keep him behind bars.
Tracey Millington-Jones's mother Wendy Speakes, who was 51, was raped before being stabbed to death by Christopher Farrow in her home in Wakefield in 1994.
It took six years to bring Farrow to justice before he was jailed for a minimum of 18 years in 2000.
He is now being detained at Lincolnshire's North Sea Camp open prison, and has started having escorted releases as he is prepared to be freed.
Ms Millington-Jones has been crowdfunding to raise money for a judicial review of the decision to release him.
And she has now gained support from Harry Fletcher – a victims' rights campaigner who fought to keep the so-called Black Cab Rapist John Worboys in prison.
Ms Millington-Jones said Farrow had tried to attack other women before murdering her mother and still poses a danger to women.
She said: "Nobody takes into account the victims – the fact that I've had to live my life without my mum.
"The ladies that he did try to attack. who's to say that he's not going to go and knock on their doors again. There's the worry that he's going to come out and do the same thing."
Farrow tricked his way into Mrs Speakes' house and tied her up with a pair of stockings and forced her to wear a pair of blue mule shoes during the attack.
He then left Mrs Speakes’ home with a pair of her court shoes as a ‘trophy’.
Ms Millington-Jones added: "It wasn't just a one-off occasion, when he murdered my mum – he'd actually been stalking other women and practising how to get into their houses.
"You don't just wake up at 38 years old and go out and murder someone. He'd practised and practised."
