Mum pays tribute to 'best friend' Leah Heyes

The mother of Leah Heyes, who is thought to have died after taking the drug MDMA, had described her daughter as her 'best friend'.

Leah collapsed in Applegarth car park in Northallerton on Saturday night and died later in hospital.

Today her mother Kerry released a picture (shown above) of them together and said in a statement 'I am absolutely heartbroken to have lost my beautiful girl. No words can describe how much she will be missed'.

A 17-year-old boy and 18-year-old man have been arrested on suspicion of supplying drugs.

Meanwhile police are appealing for witnesses to come forward and particularly want any mobile phone footage filmed in the area on Saturday night.
