Andrea Jenkyns MP calls for "failed" Theresa May "to step aside" during Prime Minister's Questions
A Yorkshire Conservative MP launched a blistering attack on Theresa May during Prime Minister's Questions this lunchtime.
Andrea Jenkyns, the MP for Morley and Outwood, claimed the Prime Minister "had failed to deliver".
In blaming the huge loss of Tory seats during last week's local elections, the MP echoed concerns raised by a Labour councillor who railed against Westminster "antics".
Andrea Jenkyns praised Theresa May's "commitment and sense of duty" but went on to call for the Prime Minister to resign.
Mrs May defended her record, saying: "This is not an issue about me.
"If it were an issue about me, and how I vote, we would have already have left the European Union."
