Labour has retained control of Leeds City Council, with voter turnout in yesterday's poll of 31 per cent.

The new composition is as follows (with changes shown in brackets):

  • Labour: 58 (-3)

  • Conservative: 23 (+1)

  • Liberal Democrat: 8 (+2)

  • Independent: 7 (-1)

  • Green: 3 (+1)
