Hull 4 Heroes charity to give local veterans the support they need
The number of veterans seeking help for trauma, anxiety or depression is continuing to rise. But now - a charity in Hull is hoping to give local veterans the support they need to adjust to civilian life.
They have put their lives on the line for their country - and yet more and more former servicemen and women are finding life after the armed forces too difficult to cope with.
Hull 4 Heroes has opened its headquarters on Whitefriargate in the city - the next step in its plan to build the first so-called 'Veterans Village' of its kind in the world.
It was opened by DIY SOS presenter Nick Knowles who became an ambassador for the charity after meeting its founder Paul Matson.
The Headquarters is the next step in the longterm plans to build a village to house and support service men and women as they leave the armed forces.
