Sheffield bells will ring today in 'solidarity' with Notre-Dame

Sheffield's Roman Catholic cathedral's bells will ring today "as a symbol of solidarity" with Notre-Dame Cathedral in Paris after it was ravaged by fire.

No ringing was planned for Holy Week but in a statement, a spokesperson for St Marie's Cathedral said they "wanted to show our thoughts and prayers are with Notre-Dame."

The ringing will take place before 11am.
