Ched Evans awarded close to a million pounds compensation from lawyers who defended him
Ched Evans has agreed an out of court settlement of around £800,000 from the lawyers who defended him against a rape allegation where he was jailed for two and a half years.
The striker, was playing for Sheffield United when he was originally convicted following a trial of raping a woman in 2011.
Evans was freed after serving half of a five year sentence and vowed to fight to clear his name.
In 2016 he was awarded a retrial. The second trial at Cardiff Crown Court resulted in a not guilty verdict.
Evans was due to face Brabners in the High Court in London this month, but an out of court settlement was reached.
