Disappearance of Alena Grlakova declared as murder inquiry
Detectives investigating the disappearance of Alena Grlakova have confirmed that the investigation is now a murder inquiry.
Earlier this week Alena’s body was found by officers on land behind Taylor’s Lane, in Rotherham.
She was reported missing in January by her concerned family after she failed to make contact with them.
Alena was last seen on Boxing Day 2018, when she was captured on CCTV leaving The Travellers Inn on Rawmarsh Hill, Parkgate at around 7pm that evening.
A man she was seen leaving with was traced and has been eliminated from our enquiries.
She was later seen at The Fitzwilliam Arms Hotel, Taylors Lane, Parkgate at around 10.30pm that same evening, walking towards Rawmarsh Hill but had not been seen since.
A post-mortem examination was carried out yesterday evening however the cause of death was unascertained.
