Trading standards officers in Sheffield have revealed how police helped them recover one of their "biggest seizures" of suspected counterfeit tobacco.

They obtained warrants to search a motor garage, where evidence suggested the illegal goods were being sold, and a nearby van, where they were stored.

Officers found and seized 57,940 cigarettes and 398 pouches (8kg) of hand-rolling tobacco.

Two employees at the garage were arrested and have been interviewed by Trading Standards and a third will be questioned.
