Reverend and the Makers lead singer reveals struggles with anorexia
Reverend and the Makers lead singer Jon McClure has revealed his struggles with anorexia as a teenager.
He says it has taken him two decades to talk publicly about the condition, and hopes it will encourage other young men to open up.
When he was a teenager in the 1990s he idolised pop stars like Damon Albarn, Liam Gallagher and Jarvis Cocker, and felt pressurised to look thin like them.
The charity Beat say around a quarter of those who suffer from eating disorders are men.
But they believe that number could be higher, due to the stigma attached to talking about it.
Jon gradually recovered after being taken by his parents to see doctors.
