Inquest opens into Leeds woman, found dead at flat after alleged stabbing
A 24-year-old analyst died from head and neck trauma after an alleged stabbing attack, an inquest has heard.
Poppy Devey Waterhouse was pronounced dead at the scene after emergency services were called to a flat in the Richmond Hill area of Leeds on the morning of December 14, Wakefield Coroner's Court was told.
A 25-year-old man has been charged with Miss Devey Waterhouse's murder.
Opening the inquest, Coroner Jonathan Leach said: "On the morning of the 14th of December, a call was received by the ambulance service in relation to an assault by stabbing at an address in Leeds."
He said paramedics certified death at 9.03am and a post-mortem examination revealed the cause of death to be head and neck trauma.
Mr Leach added: "A male occupant of the property, who was present, was arrested and an investigation was commenced by West Yorkshire Police."
The coroner adjourned the inquest to a later date.
