Schoolboy footballer from Sheffield thanks rescuers who saved his life
A teenage footballer from Sheffield has thanked the donors of a defibrilator which saved his life.
Daniel Lowe collapsed while playing for a Stocksbridge under-15s team. His heart was restarted by equipment given in memory of another Yorkshire footballer, Daniel Wilkinson who died in 2016.
The youngster suffered a cardiac arrest but luckily two of the mothers watching were nurses and performed CPR, then used the defibrillator to shock his heart back into action.
Paramedics then arrived and took over. Daniel was taken to Leeds Royal Infirmary where he has made a full recovery.
Now Daniel and his family are thanking everyone who helped save his life and are calling for more defibrilators to be made available.
