Police forces praised for handling of people with mental health issues

Humberside and Lincolnshire police forces have been praised for how they handle people with mental health problems.

A national report out today says police officers are increasingly being used as the service of default for those in mental health crisis.

Her majesty's inspectorate of constabulary concludes there needs to be a radical rethink about support for the vulnerable - but singles out our region for its response.
