The Lincolnshire warehouse that could be a 'farm of the future'

Stacks of crops grow indoors, under carefully controlled conditions

The world's most advanced so-called 'vertical farm', near Scunthorpe, could hold the key to keeping food prices low after Brexit.

The site is about to harvest its first ever crop, and expects to produce 500 tonnes of herbs every year using high-tech pink light to help their growth.

Now bosses say if more producers adopted the same technology, the country could reduce its reliance on food imports from abroad.
