Pensioner, 88, conned out of £10,000 in 'miracle health cure' scam
Police in South Yorkshire have described a scam involving so-called "miracle health cures" as one of the worst cases they've ever come across.
Pensioner Barbara Evitts, who has dementia, was ruthlessly targeted by mainly foreign companies who persuaded her to buy £10,000 worth of medication and health remedies. Fraud experts have called them "useless".
The 88-year-old was left with just £33 in her bank account after shelling out money on the products. David Hirst reports.
