Edmund wins maiden ATP Tour Title

Kyle Edmund secured his first ATP Tour title on Sunday after coming from a set down to beat Gael Monfils at the European Open.

The British number one had lost the first set 3-6 in just half an hour after being broken in the first game.

Beverly born Edmund then hit back to win the next two tie breaks 7-6 (7-2) 7-6 (7-4).

After winning his maiden title in just his second final he sunk to his knees in celebration with tears of joy.

It's been a breakthrough year for the 23 year old who reached the semi finals of the Australian Open in January and has reached no.14 in the world rankings.
