North Yorkshire Police have paid tribute to a serving officer found dead at his home.
PC Mick Atkinson had been in the force for 17 years, starting as a Police Constable in Scarborough and then moved into the Dog Support Unit and became a handler. His death is not being treated as suspicious.
In a statement Chief Constable Lisa Winward said his death had come as a great shock.
