Staff at Scarborough and Bridlington hospitals have started a 48 hour strike over changes to their employment contract.

Kitchen porters, cleaners and estates team workers walked out at 6am after York Teaching Hospital wants to change workers to a owned subsidiary.

Trade Union Unite says it is concerned that trusts are forming wholly owned subsidiary companies in England so that they can register for VAT exemption.
