Man arrested on suspicion of drink driving after pensioner dies in crash

A man has been arrested on suspicion of drink driving after being involved in a car crash which killed a pensioner in Huddersfield.

Emergency services were called to Leeds Road just before the Cooper Bridge roundabout after a collision involving an Audi and a Peugeot.

A 78-year-old woman was taken to hospital where she later died and a man in his 60s was also injured.

Police are appealing for anyone to witness the incident to come forward.
