Jared O’Mara, the MP for Sheffield Hallam, has quit the Labour Party.
It comes days after he was readmitted to the party after an investigation into offensive online comments.
In an open letter to constituents, Mr O’Mara says he feels he’s ‘not been listened to or been given a fair investigation’.
He plans to stay on as an independent MP.
Earlier this week in an interview with Calendar he opened up about his recent suicide attempts encouraged others with mental health problems to seek help.
