Lincoln City's Wembley play-off dream ends with semi-final defeat to Exeter

Lincoln City have been knocked out of the League Two play-offs after a 3-1 aggregate defeat to Exeter City.

The Imps travelled to St James's Park with high hopes they could earn an unlikely spot in the final following a 0-0 draw at Sincil Bank on Saturday.

But the away leg proved a step too far, with Matt Green's solitary strike proving nothing more than a consolation goal.

Exeter will face either Notts County or Coventry City in the League Two play-off final at Wembley on Monday May 28.
