Protest over potential Doncaster and Bassetlaw NHS Trust changes

Around 30 protesters gathered outside Doncaster Royal Infirmary this morning, objecting to what they say is 'privatisation through the back door'.

Doncaster and Bassetlaw NHS Trust board met to discuss creating a separate organisation, owned by the Trust, to run non-clinical services.

They say it could lead to greater income and more flexibility, but the unions say it will allow the trust to opt out of arrangements on staff pay and conditions.
