Guiseley progress to F.A. Cup 2nd Round for first time in their history

Non League minnows Guiseley have reached the 2nd Round of the FA Cup for the first time in their history.

They came from behind in a 1st round replay to beat the League Two side Accrington Stanley at their own ground.

'Keeper Jonny Maxted was the hero for the newly turned professional side, saving two penalties.

Stanley had taken the lead two minutes into the second half after hitting the woodwork three times in the first half.

The Lions had to come from behind with 10 men after Chris M'Boungou was sent off after receiving two bookings in five minutes at the end of the first 45.

They were level with 11 minutes left to play after John Rooney converted his penalty.

Guiseley will now travel to Mansfield in the 2nd round of the Cup which will be played on the weekend of the 2nd December.
