Future of 600 historic buildings in Yorkshire 'at risk'
More than 600 listed buildings in Yorkshire have been labelled as being 'at risk' by Historic England.
The Heritage at Risk Registerbrings attention to the sites across England that are at risk of being lost as a result of neglect, decay or inappropriate development every year.
Since last year 40 Yorkshire sites have been added - including St Mary's Church in Ecclesfield, Sheffield, and 10 other religious buildings - and 62 have been removed.
The list also includes 365 scheduled monuments, 12 registered parks and gardens, two registered battlefields and 54 conservation areas.
Among the buildings now at risk are the Little Temple designed by Capability Brown at Temple Newsam Park, and the oldest timber-framed building in York, Lady Row.
