Boys fire gun to force youths to jump into pond
Police are investigating after two boys fired a gun at younger children, forcing them to jump in a pond in South Yorkshire.
The incident took place in Thurnscoe, Rotherham, between 2pm and 4pm on Saturday, September 23.
Two boys aged 11 or 12 reportedly used a BB gun to make two 11-year-old boys jump into a pit pond off Tudor Street.
One boy allegedly fired a pellet at one victim as he jumped in the water, causing minor injuries.
PC Simon Womersley said: “We have been working closely with local schools and our partners to educate children and parents on the dangers of jumping into open water and the use of BB guns.
The two boys were described as white, with one wearing a red T-shirt and the other wearing a white T-shirt.
