Protestor climbs tower at Kirby Misperton fracking site
A protester is lying at the top of this makeshift tower at the planned fracking site at Kirby Misperton.
Police have arrived at the site in North Yorkshire and sealed the area off.
Protests have been taking place outside the proposed fracking site in Kirby Misperton for more than two weeks after equipment needed for the controversial gas extraction began to move on site.
It came after a lengthy dispute between residents, North Yorkshire County Council and energy firm Third Energy. Final planning conditions were agreed between the council and the energy firm last month.
Fracking involves drilling deep into the ground and injecting a high pressure mixture of fluids into the ground in order to release shale gas.
