Charged Hillsborough officers seek public funding in legal case
Former South Yorkshire Police officers have applied for public funding to help them with their legal cases over the Hillsborough disaster.
Former Chief Superintendent David Duckenfield along with two others have asked South Yorkshire's Police and Crime Commissioner for funding to defend themselves in court.
Families of victims were told last month that six people would be charged in connection with the 1989 tragedy - in which 96 people died.
A decision has not been made by South Yorkshire Police.
