Son of Yorkshire Ripper victim set for motivational speech marathon

The son of the first victim of the Yorkshire Ripper is set to complete a motivational speech marathon to help keep his mother's memory alive.

Richard McCann's mother, Wilma, was murdered by Peter Sutcliffe in October 1975.

When detectives told him about the murder, his life went into free fall and he later ended up behind bars himself for drugs offences.

Richard has gone on to turn his life around and shares the story of how he did, through motivational speeches.

On August 3, he will be attempting to deliver 44 pop-up speeches to businesses around Leeds City Centre in memory of his mother and to raise money for a pay as you feel cafe in Harehills.
