Famous crime writer Lee Child was in Yorkshire today to meet the 'real-life' Jack Reacher.

Friends say 1st regiment's Royal Military Police Lt Col Mark John bears more than a passing resemblance to the famous fictional character.

Today, the Lieutenant had the opportunity to meet Lee Child - who invented the Jack Reacher character.

Lee Child went to law school in Sheffield, England, and after part-time work in the theatre he joined Granada Television in Manchester.

He later turned his hand to writing and his novels have sold millions of copies around the world.

Our reporter Sally Simpson had a chat with him earlier today.
