Jogger sexually assaulted on Mirfield canal path

A woman has been sexually assaulted while jogging along a canal path in Mirfield.

It happened between Steanard Lane and Station Road on Sunday 11 June at 1.30pm. The 53-year-old woman noticed the path was blocked by a group of youths on push bikes, One the group, made an offensive remark before assaulting her. She managed to push him away and he fled the scene.

Police are keen to trace five youths; one is described as an Asian male, about 16-years-old, 5ft 7" tall with a stocky build, he had short dark hair and was clean shaven. He spoke with a local accent. He was wearing a light coloured top.
