Cladding to be removed from Lincoln university building
Some cladding is to be removed from a tower building at the University of Lincoln because it no longer meets fresh government guidelines.
The building in question, Cygnet Wharf development, is currently being constructed. The cladding will be replaced with a suitable material before it is occupied.
The university said carried out a full review of all buildings in light of the Grenfell Tower fire disaster in West London which claimed the lives of 80 people.
The university has also written to all private landlords and told them to provide formal assurances that they have reviewed their buildings, including construction materials and fire safety procedures, in line with government policy.
