Humberside Police appoint new Chief Constable

Lee Freeman has been appointed as the forces new chief following a hearing held last Thursday.

On the 30 May Freeman was announced as the preferred candidate following a selection process and was charge of the force on a temporary basis.

Keith Hunter, Crime Commissioner said he believed Mr Freeman offers 'hope for the future' and is the right person to lead the Force as it faces challenges ahead.

Mr Freeman who first joined the force in 1993 said he was ''really happy' to have his appointment confirmed.
