People in Sheffield 'more likely' to take a staycation this year

People in Sheffield are more likely to take a staycation this year than anyone else in the Calendar region.

Travelodge’s annual holiday survey has revealed that folks from the Steel City are shutting foreign holidays for breaks in Britain, with an average spend of £664.72.

People from York also rank highly on the staycation-ers list, with 48% of the people surveyed taking a break in the UK this year.

Meanwhile, Scarborough and the Yorkshire Dales have dropped out of the top ten Staycation destinations for 2017.

They were 10th and 7th in the most popular destinations list last year.
