World-famous Donkey Derby returns to Beverley

The world famous Donkey-Derby has returned to Beverley.

Gavin cruised through the field to win the closely-contested Donkey Derby at Beverley Racecourse.

Ridden by Filey-based jockey Rachel Richardson, Gavin held off a late challenge from Woody in Beverley Racecourse's annual spectacle of silliness.

The Donkey Derby is a highlight of the A Very Race Day at Beverley, which celebrates all that is best about the great British summer.

Last year's Beverley Donkey Derby became an internet sensation with more than 3.6 million viewing the antics on Facebook.
