Peter Lawrence is getting ready to appear in the Britain's Got Talent final tonight.

The father of Claudia Lawrence, who disappeared is March 2009, was voted through Friday's night's semi-final with the Missing People Choir.

Peter Lawrence is among an ensemble of missing people's relatives who moved the judges and audience to tears during their first appearance on the programme. He hopes the £250,000 prize money will help reunite their families.

Detectives believe Peter's daughter Claudia, who was reported missing after she failed to turn up for a shift at work at the University of York, was murdered.

In January North Yorkshire Police announced the investigation into her disappearance has been scaled down, a decision her father Peter hopes may be reconsidered following the choir's performance.

The group, which was formed by charity Missing People, also includes the sister of missing Manic Street Preachers guitarist Richey Edwards and Peter Boxell and Denise Horvath-Allan, whose children have both been missing for 28 years. Families involved with the charity are said to be 'delighted' the choir have made it through to the final.
