Two men jailed for nine years after 140mph car crash in Hemsworth that left four people dead

A driver who raced at more than 140mph on a road in Hemsworth - killing four young people - has been jailed for nine years.

Daniel Raynor, 23, from Barnsley, had admitted four counts of causing death by dangerous driving during the incident which happened in September 2015.

His front seat passenger Matthew Todd, 23, was also jailed for nine years by a judge at Leeds Crown Court.

The four who died were Ryan Beal, 20, Brandon Brown, 20, Alexandra Binns, 18, and Terry Louise Kirby, 16, all from Upton. They were all on a quad bike when the crash happened.

Another 10 people - including one woman - were also jailed for between42 weeks and a year for encouraging dangerous driving.
