Investigation underway at prison over former England footballer's video

An investigation's underway at a prison in South Yorkshire after former England footballer Adam Johnson was allegedly filmed in jail discussing his conviction for sexual activity with a 15-year-old fan.

The footage - obtained by The Sun newspaper - shows Johnson sitting in what appears to be the laundry room at Moorland Prison in Hatfield near Doncaster.

The 29 year old was found guilty at Bradford Crown Court last year of sexual activity with a child, and jailed for six years.

Last month, Johnson lost a challenge for permission to appeal against hisconviction and Court of Appeal judges also rejected his bid for a reduction inhis sentence.

The Prison Service says it is investigating how the video was filmed as it tries to clamp down on illegal mobile phones in prisons.
