A brand new food court, 'pop-up' shop space and indoor market are being built as part of a £5million revamp of Wakefield's Ridings Centre.

Initial work has started before the year-long refurbishment work officially starts in the spring.

It will also feature a new customer service lounge, fresh design and signage, toilet renovations and car park improvements.

The Ridings originally opened in 1983, boasting the very first food court in the UK.
