A former NHS governor from Sheffield convicted of sexually abusing vulnerable women has been jailed for more than five years.

Dean Peter Chambers, formerly of Green Oak Road, Totley, was found guilty of two counts of sexual assault, one count of administering Class C drugs and one of perverting the course of justice.

He abused his victims while working in a position of trust within the NHS between September 2014 and June 2016.

The court heard how he targeted the women, inviting them into his home and plying them with drink and prescription drugs before sexually assaulting them.

He was also found to have taken pictures and videos of them.

The 49-year-old was sentenced to five years and three months in prison yesterday following a trial at Sheffield Crown Court.

Chambers has also been placed on the Sex Offenders Register indefinitely and will be subject to a Sexual Harm Prevention Order upon his release.
