Ex-North Yorkshire officer: More needs to be done to protect frontline police
A former North Yorkshire Police officer believes that we are 'a long way short' of the right protection of officers after the death of an officer was killed in the Westminster terror attacks.
PC Keith Palmer was one of three killed in Wednesday's Westminster terror attack, with the assailant also shot dead by armed officers.
Ex-North Yorkshire Police officer Mike Pannett does not believe that officers, especially those outside of London, have the right resources to protect themselves from similar threats.
Eight people have been arrested and addresses raided in London, Birmingham and elsewhere in connection with the incident.
