8th anniversary: Missing Claudia Lawrence's mother makes emotional return to her daughter's home

The mother of Claudia Lawrence has made an emotional return to her daughter's home in York to mark the 8th anniversary of her mysterious disappearance.

Claudia was last seen on March 18th 2009 leaving her shift as a chef at York University.

Claudia was captured on CCTV on her way home from her job as a chef at York University

North Yorkshire Police believe she was murdered and until very recently the house in Heworth has been a protected crime scene.

But as detectives follow up new DNA leads, her family have been given access to the building where 35 year old Claudia lived alone.

Joan Lawrence took Calendar Presenter Christine Talbot into the house which holds many memories for her and may hold the answer to what happened to her daughter.

The Missing Persons' Bill dubbed Claudia's Law will be debated in the House of Commons

Peter Lawrence, Claudia's father, will wait until Friday March 24th to mark his daughter's disappearance when the Missing Persons Bill- dubbed Claudia's Law will have its third reading and be debated in the House of Commons.

The bill aims to give families greater control of the financial affairs of missing loved ones.
