Fresh appeal for witnesses to Doncaster hit-and-run as teenage boy is released on bail
Detectives investigating a fatal hit-and-run incident in Doncaster in which a grandmother died have appealed for witnesses to come forward.
Susan Gravel, a 67-year-old pedestrian, was struck by a grey/silver BMW five series on Station Road in Stainforth on Saturday.
She suffered fatal injuries and was taken to hospital via air ambulance where she died.
Police say the BMW involved in the collision reportedly failed to stop at the scene and an investigation was launched to trace the car and anyone who may have been inside.
It has since been recovered abandoned in Rawcliffe, Goole.
A 17-year-old boy who was arrested yesterday on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving has now been bailed pending further enquiries.
Detectives are now looking into the movement of a maroon coloured small hatchback style car in the build-up to the collision.
