Manic Street Preachers to headline Bingley music festival

The Manic Street Preachers have been announced as one of the headline acts for Bingley Music Live 2017.

The event at Bingley’s Myrtle Park, now in its 11th year is being held on Friday 1 September to Sunday 3 September.

The Welsh indie rock legends Manic Street Preachers have had a career spanning 30 years and over that time produced such recognisable anthems as ‘Design for Life’, ‘Motorcycle Emptiness’, ‘You Stole the Sun from my Heart’ and ‘Your Love Alone is Not Enough’.

The band has received numerous awards over the years, including an Ivor Novello for ‘Design for Life’ and ‘God-like Genius’ from NME.

They will headline on Friday, 1 September.

In 2001 they were the first western rock band to play in Cuba and met the late president Fidel Castro.

The band are currently working on their 13th studio album and preparing for a summer tour.
