Police are "flooding" the neighbourhood of a man who died from multiple injuries in Rotherham in a bid to solve his murder.

Steven Fretwell was found dead at his home in Kingswood Avenue, Laughton, on the afternoon of Sunday, December 18.

Four men, aged 21, 26, 33 and 35, who were arrested over the incident remain on bail pending further enquiries.

South Yorkshire Police are holding a "community day of action" as they continue investigations.

Detective Superintendent Matt Fenwick said: “We believe the answer as to who is responsible for Mr Fretwell’s death could lie within the community.

“Our officers will be in Dinnington today, flooding the area with our presence, to appeal to members of the public for information.

“During the course of our investigation so far, we have explored numerous lines of enquiry, spoken to a number of witnesses and analysed extensive amounts of CCTV footage.

“Today, we will be handing out posters and speaking to members of the public, with the hope of gathering as much information as we can to find out what happened to Mr Fretwell.

“If you’re in the area, and know anything about what happened, or saw Mr Fretwell in the day’s leading up to his death, please come and speak to us."
