Tadcaster Bridge to re-open after year-long reconstruction
Tadcaster Bridge is set to re-open this afternoon after a year-long reconstruction.
The bridge collapsed due to flood water from heavy rains during the 2015 Christmas floods splitting the town in two.
Freezing temperatures have caused delays to final repairs.
Children from all three of Tadcaster’s primary schools: Riverside; Tadcaster East and St Joseph’s will be among the first people to cross the new structure.
The first vehicle to cross the bridge will be a bus full of members of the town's community, before it officially re-opens to traffic.
